Re: stock 4x4 pics...anyone?
Those are 33 12.5 15's BFG All Terrains and the wheels are plain steel 15x8s (six lug). The lift is 2.5 inch Skyjacker soft rides on all four corners.
Its officially not my truck anymore. I gave it to my youngest son...I finally signed over the title. He isn't allowed to sell it though. Its the first rig my sons and I put together from the frame up, neither one of em was driving age at the time. It would be nice to keep it in the family. It really needs some rust repair now. Hard to see it in the pics though. Last edited by CG; 01-03-2008 at 12:31 PM. |

Re: stock 4x4 pics...anyone?
Ok here are the pics of my latest 4x4. Black wheels and white letter tires are how I got it. Those were 16.5 x 9.75 wheels and 33 12.5 16.5 tires. The new white wheels are 16.5 x 8.25 and 33 12.5 16.5 BFG All Terrain tires.
The black truck is my old one, now my sons. This is how I want my green one to sit when finished. I also have a new chrome bumper for the front and I will be putting the grill and surround back to stock. I just dont care for the all blacked out look it had. The radiator support and one of the wheel wells are rusted. I have replacements for them but I want to get em powder coated first. So many things I "want" to do, but the ol wallets a little thin right now =) The second pic of the green one is the actual color. The first pic I was having trouble with my camera settings, so that color is off. |

Re: stock 4x4 pics...anyone?
Here is what mine came with, although the stepside caps were probably painted, not chrome. Don't quote me on that as I don't know exactly what your truck came with.

Re: stock 4x4 pics...anyone?
I'll post some pics of my 68 suburban once I get the 15X8 rims back from powder coating next week and mount the 33 BFG's on it.

Re: stock 4x4 pics...anyone?
The concept of my rebuild was to have a stock-looking rig that was a bit higher than stock. But stock-appearing, nonetheless. I was really inspired by the mid to late 70s Ford Highboys. It has a 4" all spring Rough Country and Firestone Transforce A/T 235/85/16s, which translate to about 32 inches tall...

Re: stock 4x4 pics...anyone?
I like this old thread. Tons of cool rides here. Since this was started I sold my black k10 to oldiron here on the board and he did a fantastic job of finishing it up.
Im really considering retiring my K20, as much as I love it, it seldom gets driven. We'll see =) Keep posting the great pics everyone!

Re: stock 4x4 pics...anyone?
Love the stock pics also. Here is a pic of my 68 that is stock. It just had black rims with no hubcaps. Very skinny tires, I think 6.50-16.
Here is my original 65 that has hubcaps. I think all base 4x4's had black rims. |
