Getting ready to do a cab swap. What do I need?
hey,
I picked up a new cab for my truck and it's going to get some work done and then she goes on my truck. Do i need to get specific mounting bolts or can i make something work from the hardware store?? Anything else that i should pick up that you guys can think of?

It really depends on the motor and trans it will be hooked up to. The best way to bolt it down would be studs. That is if it is a 4 bbl. Also may need some kind of trans linkage bracket. Most auto stores sell carb studs.

CAB swap, not carb swap. How are the body mount bushings? Same year cabs? Do you have 4wd or 2wd, and what does the new cab have, trans tunnel.

Re: Getting ready to do a cab swap. What do I need?
U really need to research the cab mounts. They are unaccessable from the nut so if u strip.. Gotta cut it out. What do u need? A forklift and soft staps will help u like no other. U realky just needbto search. Theres alot of work there man. Good luck.

Start by pulling the cab mount bolts in both of 'em, see what you have that will work. Most of 'em are junk as are the rubber mounts.

Re: Getting ready to do a cab swap. What do I need?
You're going to need some thicker body mount bushings, the hump in the floor of the 4x4 is taller than the 2wd to clear the t-case and whatnot.

You start raising the cab to clear the drivetrain, then you have to raise the front clip and bed too.
