im having problems with the rear end

im having a hard time from keeping the rear end down on the ground ,im getting real aggrisive wheel hoping left to right ,not bounce but hard to keep control ,its 4 link system ,when i take off from dead stop it burnout nice until 2nd kicks in then wheel hops starts ,today i was rolling and jump on it ,the front end was going back and forth like crazy ,almost felt like it was going to flip on its top .
any suggestion .i did adjust the 4 link once and it hook up good .

Re: im having problems with the rear end

beat me to it shortwide..... Shocks are not doing their job. Stiffen them in both directions and see what happens.

For the 4link,, typical race setup is lower bar parallel with the track, upper drivers side bar to set pinion angle, and add any pre-load with the passengers side upper bar.

For high HP, hard hitting cars (6-8 second stuff) they typically start with lower bar slightly pitched downward just enough that you get a IC 45-50" in front of the rear axle centerline, and 4" above the track.

I love Dave Morgans statement that "misery loves a bunch of adjustment holes in a suspension bracket". If your not willing to putz with the 4link to find exactly what your combination likes at every track you go to,,, you probably would be better off with a ladder bar setup.

(all that coming from a guy that has two 4link cars that are probably set up so WRONG it's not even funny)
