33x12.5r15 vs 33x10.5r15

Ive got an 86 chevy with 2in lift and im wanting to get bigger tires but idk wether i should get 33x12.5 or 33x10.5 but which on performs better in the mud and sand i plan to occasionally go to the river and be on the sand bar but mostly gonna be in the mud or should i run 32x11.5s? needing some help here pics would be appreciated and i plan on running bfg km2s

Personally I'd go with the 33x10.5, I like the skinny tire look, but for sand I'd go with the 33x12.5, just remember to air down for soft sand.

Im running the same tire in 35x12.5R15. For sand, the wider the better. But either tire will do the job as long as you air down to 12 PSI or so. I used to run 31x10.5R15 out in the sand with no problem. I guess it comes down to the rim size and the look you want.

see the biggest thing is that im not on the sand much the only sand we have is at the river and i dont do to much wheeling on it cept when we get no rain we mostly play in the mud so these tires need to work best in mud and dont have to perform awesome in sand just good enough to get me by ive got a pair of bald thornbirds that r 33x12.5 that i think im gonna mount up and run on the rear just for going to the river

i love your truck im gonna get which ever one i can find thats the cheaper ones which the biggest thing about the 10.5s i have to special order them but its not a big deal i have access to a tire machine and balancer

I like the 12.5s but that's just me. I think you will be fine either way. If your in the mud and the sand a lot I would go with the wider ones. Post up some pics when you get your new tires and get them mounted up

the only thing is im worried about the 12.5s floating more in the mud but i think they would look way better and the tires are on hold right now the trucks getting a new tranny and the front end rebuilt and theres a chance i may be getting laid off so fingers crossed i can stay on for another month so ive got some cash put back

In suction mud you want pizza cutters(skinny), but in most mud wide tires are fine.

I've got 10.5 on my jeep, but I think they are a little small for the truck. I would go with the 12.5

Heres mine with 33x10.50 15 in BFG KM. I have 2 1/2 lift. I like em.

Personally, I'd go with the narrower tire.

In my case, I have the 12.50's and the driver side front rubs the steering arm nut on a hard right hand locked turn.

i like the truck Bill but i think the 10.5 look a little bit narrow but i run em i have a set of spokes the really pushes em out but i mounted a set of 12.5s on that werent good from a buddy just to see what it looks like and i love it i like the wider tire it just gives it a cool stance but i may still go with the 10.5 and put it on a 10 in rim just to let it look like its wider

10.5 on a 10" rim doesn't look that great... I tried it..

Hard to see in this image but the tread is narrower than the sidewall...
