Grant Steering Wheel Installation ??
I'm trying to install my new Grant wheel. I bought the 3196 Grant installation kit. I'm having a problem because the Grant hub is not sliding over my spline? At first, the backing plate on the hub was blocking the plastic horn shaft from coming through so I trimmed the backing plate. Once I got that done, it still won't fit over the column shaft. I thought maybe the plastic horn piece was still hitting, but I turned the hub around and it won't fit that way either.
Am I doing something wrong? Did anybody else that has Grant wheels have this problem?

Mine went on with no problems at all. Are you sure they gave you the right installation kit?

might double check and make sure that is the right part for the box. went to pick up an oil filter the other day and picked up the PF35L for $9.99 opened it up to make sure and the part number on the filter was for a PF1218 for $2.99. the PF1218 fits but its for a van and wasnt the top of the line special filter. if i hadnt checked i would have paid way too much for a filter.

Thanks guys. I have double checked to make sure the part number is the correct one. I'll take it back and get another one. It very well may be the wrong part in the right box.

Kinda sounds that way. The hub should fit over the steering column with no problems.

Mine fit fine, but it made my steering wheel off and tilt to the left (which is more comfortable & why I haven't fixed it)

Well, took back the install kit, got another one (same part number). And this one had the right parts in it! Amazing how well a part fits WHEN IT'S THE RIGHT ONE in the box!
