wood grain steering wheel owners.....?
for those of you with wood grain steering wheels..........what are your pros & cons about the one/ones that you have? do you have one that you really like for particular reasons?
i've been looking at some on LMC, brothers, summitracing, etc. they all look nice, but some personal experiance from others would be good considering i can't see it in person before i buy. thank you.

Re: wood grain steering wheel owners.....?
I've had a Grant wood steering wheel on my truck for about 4 years now. Looks great, but the Texas heat finally got the best of it this year. It developed a couple of cracks in it, the only good thing is they're only visible up close.

Re: wood grain steering wheel owners.....?
yeah, my dad had a 72 back when i was younger. i remember some minor splits in it, but i always had a liking for the wood wheels. the oklahoma winters are dry and summers pretty hot, so i'm hoping the truck being garage kept will prevent any damage.
fastwillie......that looks really nice. it looks like it's got a fat grip which should be comfortable. what diameter is your wheel?

Re: wood grain steering wheel owners.....?
I used to have one of these years ago. The only cons I can think of is when it rained, it would get a wet look to it and make your hands smell funny. Not sure why and it probably doesn't happen to all of them.
I liked the wheel. It's around here somewhere...

I would go with the repops of the camaro units. They just look nicer and are simulated wood but are more expensive. Trevor
