What is it worth?
A friend found me a truck.
1970 shortbox 4x4. 3 on tree with 350. It has c/20 badges which i always thought ment 2wd 3/4 ton. I also didn't think that you could get a 3/4 in a swb. I am guessing that these are not the the origional fenders. The box looks alright, but the cab needs work. The corners are gone as well as under the doors. It runs and they want $750 for it. How does that sound? |

anyone have a 3 on tree out there? How are they? I have only driven one once, and it was in a 1941 chevy. It topped out at 45 mph downhill. Anything i should be vary of with these trucks? I have wanted one since i was 12, but as it gets closer to a reality i do not want to get screwed.

getting a running truck for that price its hard to get screwed. most likely no matter how much u pay for one to start with isnt gonna matter cuz if your like most of us on this board you will have your savings into b4 you realize what you did and it never ends these things are addicting

I think its a deal. The 3 on the tree ain't too bad but then if you hang around the board enough you will be thinking turbo 350, lift kit and just about every thing else you can possibly do to one of these trucks. But it's a healthy addiction!

What started out as a $500 350 rebuild turned into a $3000 motor swap and another $1000 in suspension which meant I needed $500 in new tires and now my wheels look kinda plain so I've got my eye on a $2000 set of 20-inchers. It never ends. And even if it, I'm pretty sure I'd be bored stiff.

My truck has been a "Three on the tree" since I have had it.
This type is not good for quick shifts. If you have the torque, it will come on strong in 2nd. A good floor shift will speed up the shifting. EdB |
