ok to mount tanks, compressor in tool box?
Seems like everyone mounts these things on the frame rail, id like to mount them in a toolbox in the bed to keep them out of the elements. Is that going to be bad for the compressor?

They will generate some heat when used constantly. If you put it/them in an enclosed space, just ensure there's enough air space for the comp to work.

Maybe cut a couple holes in the toolbox and mount some computer fans to draw air in and out.
