Re: Smoking
Open the hood, rev it up by hand and take a look to see where you have a leak...and what color is the smoke.... is it have a blue hue like your burning oil or, is it have a whiteish hue like you are burning coolant... basically we need more info

Re: Smoking
sometimes the intake manifold on corners leaks oil and mabye thats hitting the exhaust and making the smoke come in. I know I had that problem on one of my past trucks.

Re: Smoking
It's a blue smoke but the truck is never low on oil when i check it. It did start doing it after i swapped out my intake.

Re: Smoking
Oil from somewhere is getting on the exhaust.
Usual suspects are the oil sending unit on the back of the block. The manifold valley seals, and valve cover seals. Gary

Re: Smoking
I had a car years ago that had a valve cover leak. If I climbed a long hill, or ran for a good distance at wot, I could smell the oil burning off the exhaust. I always figured the extra load, increased the exhaust temp enough to burn what normally didn't burn off.

Re: Smoking
My buddy's nova had smoke coming in the interior and out rear when wide open (i was with him one day when he had to go to the potty) so we was on it! i checked it out when he was well..... turned out that the bolt on the front of the block was missing letting oil out and burning on the exhaust. If your block has the two threaded holes on the passenger side bottom front the top one should have a bolt in it. *just a thought*

Re: Smoking
Think I got it figured out. swapped out the fuel pump and no more leaking or smoke yet. The pump was leaking and between the gas and oil it was making a huge mess. So now another question is why does this motor feel like a dog. I have a performer plus rv cam with a performer intake and holley 600 carb. Just doesnt feel like it has any type of gettup and go but cruises nice on the highway. Also has a turbo 350 trans converted from a stick.
