Rare rear cab trim found in junkyard

I found this Today in a junkyard.... They are auctioning off all of the old cars before the crusher comes in and mashes what is left. I will post what it brings and if I am able to buy it.

the radiator shroud

the emblems

the hood

interior parts like the glove box door and the little bitty things like knobs

Your a lucky guy if you get it, look for the dispatch/ glovebox light. Man I'd love to have that molding across the back of my truck. It finishes off the two tone nicely.

Thanks, decided not to be greedy, I only have 64-66 trucks, So I decided to tell my buuddy of 25 plus years about it too. He is building a 61 4x4 all original. He wants to change over to V8 from 6 and wants everything I dont. So we are going together, hopefully no one will have deeper pockets than both of us combined. The Auction is 10 am tomorrow. Rumor is anything over $300.00 crusher price will buy the vehicles.

I agree with that statement, breaks my heart to see all the trucks on Craigslist up for sale so cheap!

Re: Rare rear cab trim found in junkyard

Well..... I regret to inform you I did not get the truck bought. After we finally got the doors opens and inspected everything closely we found quite abit of rust, there was not much on the 1960 i could use on my 1965 so I was limited on how much I was willing to spend since all I waanted was the cab trim. We Bid the truck up to $475.00 and quit.

The GOOD news is as soon as the auction was done on this truck I grabbed the winner and asked him if he would sell any of it, he said yes and sold me the cab trim for $65.00 ! I immediately paid him and while I was pulling it off someone else was telling him how rare and expensive it was. He kinda acted pissed but I had already paid him so he didn't say much.

My Buddy ended up buying a very nice complete 1963 LWB for $400.00 at the very end of the auction that was ascross the road, most people didn't know they were going to sell anything from over there. Was a good day for hunting parts

$475.00 was the winning bid on the 1960, turned out the best for me in the end...... I only had to give $65.00 for what I needed and didn't have to move the rest of the truck.

They were "assisting" with loading with a forklift, they ended up dropping the truck and messing up the chrome grille, and hood.....lol

I might not even put it on one of my trucks, but I had to buy it since they are so hard to find...... and for the $65.00 price I can afford to keep it until I do decide what to do.

Re: Rare rear cab trim found in junkyard

So it's been awhile, why not sell them now that you've decided to sell. Take the profit and buy something you need now! They could get damaged. Besides there not for your year! Dibs! LOL

Congrats on the purchase. Not very often that trim changes hands for $65 anymore!
