I've seen it a few times. Both back in the 50's/60's when the trucks were used for work daily and later on one that was more of a lowrider. Just don't ding it in with a sledge hammer and leave the dents unfinished like a friend of my stepfather at the time did in the late 50's. He had a regular spare on one side and a traction tire spare for the rear on the other. That truck spent a lot of time up in the woods on hunting trips and showed it.
