Re: 1967 c-10 4x4 build
torch would be more ''fun'' and faster, then the broom and shovel

Re: 1967 c-10 4x4 build
its been a while, but i got some stuff started. i'll start out like this. the oil pan is dry. rear main. gotta yank the engine soon and fix it.
second off, bondo started. its looking pretty good. only first coat though. i need to get another coat or two to get it looking real nice. third, i got some new seats out of a heep today from the junk yard. it was an '05 i believe. dosent matter anymore. 20 bucks for both, in almost perfect condition. and finally, i decided that im going to look for a NICE flat bed, and ditch the normal bed. too far gone. and by the time i run around finding one thats decent from around here, and fix it, and it rusts out again in a couple years, its not even worth the hassle. and of coarse, the pictures: and some of the bumpers:

Re: 1967 c-10 4x4 build
I say leave the bed, flatbeds look alright on a 4x4. But your bed doesnt look that bad.

Re: 1967 c-10 4x4 build
the inside of the bed is where its real bad. the tailgates shot to the point where you can't sit on it, the wheel wells are rusted out, and the insides of the bedsides are almost all gone. i'll get pictures. probably wont be until the weekend though. fire training tomorrow, and work friday. leaves little time for the truck

Re: 1967 c-10 4x4 build
my bed was the same way...it looked okay on the outside but couldnt walk on it without falling through. i traded my neighbor 10 ricks of hedge wood for a flat bed he took off his early 90's ford dually surprisingly it fit pretty good and frame widths where the same. all im going to have to do is shorten it about 1 foot cause it is 9 foot long and makes the truck look weird but other than that i think it makes the truck look tougher...check out my build tread in my signature if you want to see some pics.

Re: 1967 c-10 4x4 build
im going to go talk to a local guy that owns a stoneyard closeby. about 10 years ago, my dad built a flat bed for a '85 chevy, and my neighbor bought the truck, and it went through people, and last i heard he had it, and less then a year ago, i saw it sitting in his lot.
