Brake shoe backing plate

Where can I find new brake shoe backing plates for an 87 Chevrolet 2500 with a GM 14 bolt with 13" shoes?

Re: Brake shoe backing plate

Try a GM dealer or a retailer that sells AC Delco parts.

All I could find are AC Delco part number 14056176 for the right and 14056175 for the left, if the truck has the JB7/JD7 brake combination. You may have to find your option code sticker (often inside the glove box door) to find out what brakes you have.

The other option would be a wrecking yard.

Re: Brake shoe backing plate

Thanks for the part #'s. I tried the local parts houses but they couldn't find anything. I'll try the Chevy dealer Monday. If they can't help I'll try the salvage yards. If I go that route, I'll probably have to buy the whole rear axle.
