Finally weighed my truck...
Today, I went over to the scrap yard. To my surprise, the person working the scales was a pretty hot chick. So, I asked her if she would weigh my truck. First, she asked why, so I told her that I was just curious. (Shoulda asked her for her # or something, doh!)
Drum roll please.....3700lbs with a FULL tank of gas (just came from the gas station). So...that's pretty light eh? |

Most of the guys on here who posted their weights were around 4000-4200lbs, and the 4x4 and bigger guys hitting 5000lbs. I need to go weigh one of mine.

If my titles are correct, that is a bit light. My 77 SWB says 4000 lb, and my 82 Blazer (2wd) says 4300 lb. Maybe it was all the hot air you were blowing at the cutie that filled your cab and made it lighter...

Last time I went to the scrap yard I weighed under 4000 and I had a couple hundred pounds of stuff in back. Sounds about right.

Well that seem's a little on the light side but it's still a realistic number for our truck's.
Some of my old reg's. say mine weigh's 3845 but they get that number from chevrolet. My truck has never been weighed by the state or by me. I personally think my stepside will weigh in alot less than that cuz that number is for a fleetside box. If you want an accurate weigh in go to a truck stop like flyin-J or pilot they have scale's that are required to be calibrated & certified by your state every 6 to 12 mo. I dont think a scraper's scale will be too accurate and im not shure your state even require's them to have there scale to be on the state calibration program. But you will have to pay about 12 bux. |
