Alternator wiring

I need to wire a 89 Blazer Alternator to work without the stock harness, I dont care about a idiot light but need to know which of the 3 wires on the plug into the back of the alternator is the voltage sensing wire that i need to connect to the + post to make it work? A buddy told me it was the middle wire of the three but want to confirm this.

really, out of all of you no one know which of the 3 wires is the voltage sense wire?

I bypassed the factory wiring entirely when I upgraded to the CS144. I ran a wire from switched 12V+ at the fusebox, put a bulb in the wire, and ran it to the "I" terminal on the alternator. On your plug for the new alternator, it will have a larger sensing wire, loop that to the charging lug on the alternator, and run a larger gauge wire from that lug to the positive terminal of the battery. I used a 4 ga. wire, but just make sure it is at least 10.

i went from(1978) idiot lights to factory gauges using the orange in the cluster plug,
the brown is just wrapped in tape behind the cluster didn't need it,
charges at 14+ to 15 on the stock gauge
