IN Pre march 1966 Corvette Valve Covers - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

These are REALLY NICE OEM Chevy corvette cast aluminum valve covers. Will fit 59-67 They are straight hole not staggered bolt... Media Blasted to restore finish... Casting numbers and stamping very legible...These are previously installed but SUPERB condition. These do not have the casting line which dates them at pre march 1966... They are still genuine!!! The GM factory die cracked around March 1966 and that is why the post 1966 into 1967 Chevy Corvette valve covers all have the Casting mark through the "O". The fainter the casting mark...the earlier the cover was made.. .As the crack got bigger with later productions, the casting mark became more prominent and/or evident...hence clarifying some of the myths and debate on "true" Corvette valve covers..

ah, I was wondering about that. So I have the very rare "cracked casting" valve covers. I feel so proud !
