Rear emblem
I have a recently acquired a 72 GMC burb, and it was painted by the previous owner and then it sat for years never put back together after paint. Anyway I'm getting it back together but I cannot find the rear emblem that goes on the back doors that says GMC. Who makes that and where can I get it? I have a 67 GMC also and it has the emblem I just can't seem to find anyone who sales it.

Re: Rear emblem
The GMC rear door emblem is not reproduced (unfortunately). They are very HARD to find (near impossible). As others have suggested - the WTB section is a good start. Also create a google alert (for the emblem, or tailgate/rear door for sale - sometimes the emblem will still be on it). Good luck on your search!

Re: Rear emblem
Thanks. It's the correct emblem for this year, but it was missing when I bought the burb. I looked for a emblem for a few months and saw a post on the fourm - a member bought a gmc burb for a project. i happened to look at his pics, saw what looked like a emblem. so i contacted him and made him a offer. these are really hard to find. i came across broken, or pieces of a emblem, but never a complete one (except this one). i thought about using it to make a mold to reproduce but its very expensive and i dont think i could recoup the cost of the mold and production run (not a whole lot of GMC burbs out there).

Re: Rear emblem
kmoore's looks good too, wonder what it would look like if he painted the letters white.
I have made a lot of bone yards and have never run into the original like dougo's but i will be on the look out.

Re: Rear emblem
Dougo how much do you think the cost to repop one would be, Maybe there would be a market for them? I could use two and I am sure there are a decent amount of guys that could use one too.
