Missing You All...

Man I've missed this place and all you Guys and Gals.

My last post here was earlier this summer when I was telling you all about my big new garage plans. Well - my summer (along with my plans) did not go as I was originally expecting. My job took me out of town for most of June and then one thing after another led to delays. Finally, my wife and I decided to put the garage on hold for a year and spend that time looking around for a different (bigger) home - - maybe with the garage already built.

Well, it didn't take a year. We bought a house on July 28th (our 13th wedding anniversary). "Big, detached garage?" you ask. No, just an attached single (very small). "What were you thinking?" you ask. I'm not sure but the house is nice. Actually the back yard (behind the attached garage) is approx. 58' wide x 55' to 60' long - - plenty of room for my 26'x28' garage. So, only problem is my dream will have to wait until at least next summer or possiby longer, depending on the money situation. In the meantime, the Silverado will stay one the front drive and my projects will need to be done in the snow and rain .

So thanks for listening. I just thought I would share this news with you all and say "HI". Hopefully I'll be able to come by more often in the next few months.

Take Care All - Happy Tinkerin'

Welcome back! I haven't been around too much either. Busy at work and with family as I'm sure you and many others can understand. Good luck with the new house and future garage!

Glad to have you back. I've been quite busy as well for various different reasons only getting on here like every 3 days. My project is on hold to as we are in a little bit of a money crunch right now.

Congrads on the new house. Even though it didn't have the big garage you wanted, I'm sure your wife is very happy.
I owned my house for 16 years before I even started to dig to build my garage. Doing all the work myself, it took 4 years to build and another year to wire, plumb, hook up the heating and insulate it.
Next to buying the house, building the garage is the best investment I've made.
Two rules to building a garage:
1. The Bigger, the Better.
2. No matter how big you build a garage, it will always be too small.

Thanks for the thoughts Guys. I'm sure we'll enjoy our new home - and by the sounds of it, my wife is pretty anxious to get that garage built as well. So who knows - - maybe next summer.

George - no offence, Man - but I'm not sure I'd call what you've got there a "garage". Words like "mansion", "palace", "aircraft hangar", etc. might be more appropriate. Just colour me green...

All I know is I'm just glad Chevy built them the way they did, because my olg girl ain't getting the attention I'd like to give her. She just keeps on tickin'...
