Re: Actual miles on your truck
When I bought my '72 K20 , the PO told me that the truck had set for a lot of years. As I'm driving it now,,,, I think he was being straight with me. Every time I drive it it seems like another seal starts leaking. The odometer showed just under 64k when I got it. I've put about 700 miles on it ,,, have replaced front diff cover gasket, both rear wheel seals, both rear axle seals, power steering pump, and rebuilt the steering sector. Now I see that the rear pinion seal is dripping along with the rear transfer case seal.
I've also replaced all of the hoses in the engine compartment due to dry rot. It must have set in the sun because the dash pad was nothing more that the 2 metal strips that bolt to the dash. Altho,, he must have had the seat covered,, it's not original but it is in pretty good shape. When it all comes down to it I don't care if it's got 64k miles or 640,000 miles,, I think it's a good truck and I enjoy it !! |

Re: Actual miles on your truck
The odometer showed 22,xxx when I got, which the title read 88,xxx so I know it was 122,xxx then, in 2001. Now it has 204,xxx on it. It had a reman longblock put in it about 5,000 miles before I bought it, so the engine has about 87,xxx on it. I thought 204k was a lot of miles until I read this thread, lol.

Re: Actual miles on your truck
When I bought mine, it showed 98K. I figured it had been around once. When we were tearing it apart, I changed my mind. There's too much about the chassis that is too un-touched for it to have 213K on it, so I'm saying right now that only has 113K on it. There's no proof and no way to say otherwise, but the overall condition of the chassis and the body is just too much to say that it has any more than 113K. I will stand by that statement whenever anyone asks. But, I can't swear on it, any more than anyone else could swear to the contrary. We just don't know if we don't have the capability of displaying mileage past 99,999.9 miles.

Re: Actual miles on your truck
I have no clue, but judging by condition it can't be less than 300k. Maybe as high as 500k, everything was shot on it, and I mean everything! I seriously should have junked it instead of replacing everything.

Re: Actual miles on your truck
My Blazer said 36000 and change when I got it, original suspension/new motor & trans, after touching every nut, bolt and screw I'm confident in the 136 000 number, I've only added about 600 since. I love hearing "original miles", LOL, no aftermarket miles or miles from a different truck added eh?
I think it's awsome to hear 300-500 000 miles on an old truck; hinges still work, widows still work etc. Where I'm at, thats 500-800 000 km's....newer trucks don't do that(not well anyways).
