Front end weight
Does anybody have the front end weight of a 73-87 with a BBC and an automatic.

Its an 87 1/2 ton. 2wd no a/c. I don't need anything exact. Just in the ballpark.

If you are buying front springs for drag racing, do yourself a favor and go put it on a scale. Get real weights with you in it. NO spring manufacture can nail stance and weight transfer on a ballpark guess.

I would but, I have no engine or fluids in it. The engine is at the machine shop. Yes, it is for drag springs. I'm going to be buying them from Landrum Spring in Indiana.

like super said. i'd wait till you get it back together and scaled. you could prolly get a decent guesstimate from someone but the springs cost the same whether they are "right" or "close"

I promise they will not be spot on unless you have real weights. In addition to that, knowing your total front axle weight AND your unsprung weight will really help them nail the right spring.

I guess I'll just wait. A guy I work with is going to let me borrow his 454 so, I can fab up the exhaust and the fuel lines. I just need to find someone around me with a set of scales I can borrow.

You can get away with using a local truck scale. Just drive on it, get the front weight, total weight and then do a little math to get the rear weight.
