64 heater box
For some reason i cant figure out why i cant pull the top off to change the heater core. The first cover came off fine but the second one seems to be stuck in the back. I know all of the screws are out, that i can see any way. Any ideas?

Re: 64 heater box
Sometimes they seem to hang up where they are attached to the firewall. Could also be, someone used an adhesive on the seal like dthela mentioned.

Re: 64 heater box
On my 65, I had to remove it from the firewall to get to 4 screws you cant see or get to with it on the truck.

Re: 64 heater box
I was suprised by how many screws they used to hold it together. Seems like they could have cut the number in half.

Re: 64 heater box
I am having the same problem. I removed every screw i could see. I just found the ones on the inside of the cab through the firewall, did you get yours off after removing those??

Re: 64 heater box
Pull off the 2 or 3 bolts from inside, then remove the whole unit from the engine compartment. Then you will see the rest of the screws.

Re: 64 heater box
I see that the topic is the heater core. Mine isn't working too good neither. Do I have to replace the entire box and core or do I have to just open the flux capacitor and replace the core itself?
