Shock woes (with pics)
I was adjusting my rear brakes when I noticed some issues. The left upper shock mount broke off the frame. In the process of repairing that, I noticed the left rear shock was hitting the western-chassis c-notch making a big dent in the shock body. I bet this is why the shock mount broke. The right side does not have this issue since that shock is mounted in the opposite direction on these trucks.
I think it is pretty lame that western chassis did not include extensions with their kit. It is obvious that it is a requirement. I had no idea it was going to be an issue since the shocks mounted up fine without them. Either way, I ordered up some western-chassis extensions from summit. Hopefully these will prevent the shock from hitting the edge of the c-notch. The shock still seems to compress and retract fine so it seems to just be a cosmetic dent hopefully. Also, I have included a pic of the front shock (doetsch tech 4052G). These came with the kit. Is it me, or is that not very much shock travel before it bottoms and probably eventually busting my front upper shock mounts? Ooops!: Dented: Front shock travel:

Re: Shock woes (with pics)
Thats how much shock travel I have upfront on my 77...its lowered 6 inches with the same drop shocks. Does not bottom out, did not cause any issues.
