Chevy ambulance
I saw this picture on another forum of a Chevy ambulance that looks like it was on a stretched Suburban but looking closer it was a modified truck. And I thought I had weird trucks.
And no, they are not mine. |

Re: Chevy ambulance
No question they started off as trucks, not Suburbans. Very interesting, I have never seen any ambulances like those.

Re: Chevy ambulance
There is a cool site that has photos of old ambulance conversions. Acoording to the site, a company called "Pinner" stretched trucks into ambulances. However, another website indicates that Pinner went out of business in 1968? There are actually photos of old amulances from two FDs in my town, Alden and Millgrove NY. Here is a link:

Re: Chevy ambulance
If you want to find pictures of these types of specialty vehicles, find a 67-72 Chevy 'Silver Book' or GMC Truck Equipment Catalog. These are big catalogs supplied to dealers that listed all the approved vehicle outfitters and modification centers that built these trucks. Those catalogs show up on Ebay from time to time.
