LMC Headliner Installation

My LMC Headliner is installed, make sure you replace speaker before installing, believe me you dont want to install this headliner twice. Have someone available to assist you with installation. Make sure you tape speaker foam and large foam pad before attempting to install. The most difficult part of the installation is holding it up and and inserting screws. The only modification needed is drilling holes for mounting sun visor, and you will have to shave a little on sun visor slots. I attached a photo, hope I uploaded attachment correctly.

i have not had any problems with my speakers an i have a full stereo system...they sound great.

I used a dye instead of paint because dye seems to bond better to plastic. As far as my speakers, I upgraded them, but used the speaker cover that came with the headliner. I recommend changing the speakers because they're only 10 watts and they sound great at low-mid volume. But if your stereo system is pushing big watts and you enjoy listening to your music above mid volume, you're going to blow them the first time you crank up volume. The smart thing to do is base your speaker choice on your stereo watts per channel and the volume level you prefer to avoid having to drop the headliner and replace the speakers.

I used Rustoleum specialty paint for plastic on mine 3 years ago and have had absolutely no problems with the finish. I've also found that since the speaker is right beside your ears you don't want to turn it up that loud anyway, so the speakers that came with it are fine for my Cadillac factory radio. The white switches are snow plow controls for the Boss Power-V.

Looks real good, I been considering getting one of these. What the purpose of the speaker foam and foam sheet? Do you have any pics of the visor where you notched it?

[THE "10" SILVERADO]

I installed one last week over the break. Had it at the shop waiting for the rest of the interior. It will require at least two people to install. I ended up having to have two people hold it up and then tape it to the cab. Then you must install the trim pieces one at a time.

You don't need to take it down to replace the speakers. They are screwed in from the bottom and just need to be taken out and the speaker will fall out (literally).

The top front section is made to be cut and used for a stereo but for the sake of the stereo already in the dash just route the wire down through the carpet/door sills and up behind the drivers side pillar trim.

The sun visor will not fit perfectly, I ended up having to used self-taping screws to get it to stay up. It seemed physically impossible to get it to work like before.

Make sure to have the wires to your dome light crimped and ready to go so you don't have to take it back down to wire the dome light.

Overall it is really good looking but it was a big PITA to install.
