update.. I finished the EZ-EFI install on the K25

I finally got back over to the shop on Saturday and finished the FAST EZ-EFI install on the K25.
Wow! After going through the handheld wizard and setting the parameters for the tune, she fired right up and idled perfect at 700rpm. I had set the wizard to kick on the fans at 180 degrees, and they came on right at 180. I adjusted the fuel pressure to the recommended 43psi.
Throttle response is crisp..idle is smooth.
Now here's the facepalm moment.
I turned off the engine, and began programming the EZ-TCU wizard to control the 4L80e trans...went smooth and easy..fired up the truck again...perfect...put in reverse then drive...perfect. Turned off truck. I couldn't pull the truck out of my buddy's shop as they had me blocked in doing an engine install on another buddy's truck...no problem, they will finish up today and I can drive Sunday morning...sweet. There's only one problem...I LOST THE KEYS!!!!
I tore the shop apart, but I cant find the keys to the truck anywhere. So I haven't got to test drive it yet.
I removed a door lock cylinder and am going to head to the locksmith this morning and hope they can cut me some keys!
Will keep ya posted.

Nice, clean install too. Kinda the best of both worlds - original looks with modern efficiencies...

Good luck with the keys.

Re: update.. I finished the EZ-EFI install on the K25

Well, The locksmith cut me some new keys, and I just went by the shop to see if they worked, and she fired right up!
Sweeeeet!
Unfortunately it's raining here in Austin today, so no drive this afternoon.
Maybe later this week.
I'm going to try and shoot a little video of her running and post it as well.

Re: update.. I finished the EZ-EFI install on the K25

I have the ez efi on my burb with lq4. The more you drive the truck the better it will be. If you think it is good now just wait tell it learns you engine. It is amazing what it can do. I get 14 mpg in my lifted 4x4 burb with a cam. I will one day also buy the trans controller when i get a 4l80e. You wont regret buying the efi.

Re: update.. I finished the EZ-EFI install on the K25

Here's my first ever attempt at a video link.
Sorry about the shortness and quality...shot on my phone.
I promise a better video when I drive her this weekend and see how the EZ-EFI performs.
Shot this video this evening, kinda of dark in the barn.

Been waiting for this update. Looking forward to some further evaluation. I thought I was the only one who loses crap they 'just had'.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
