That would make sense if crews and suburbans all had white interior trim, but there seems to be no uniformity to what was color matched and what wasn't. Anybody have or have seen a burban with random white interior parts? And what interior color was the white part of? Did they ever offer a white interior?

I'm sorry to be blunt, but I was there and that was the reason, because of the volume and the physical size of the parts.

Suburbans always had a few more interior color options, because they were money makers, but the Blazers and Crews were more restricted.

I remember when, in the later years, we began offering color keyed interiors and it was a big deal at the time....

Thanks for the input Keith!

I'm guessing back when these were being built, most of the crews were fleet vehicles or work trucks. Probably not a big need for nice interiors.

Makes me wonder why some of them have colored trim? We're they swapped out?

That make sense because both my crew and burb are 88's and they have color keyed interior.

I just figured they wanted to piss everyone off! Crew cabs were typically work trucks and what better than WHITE god damned trim and headliner for the working man??? Right?

No problem, I got that all taken care of this weekend and my whole interior is now tan!

It seems all the 70's models had the beige headliners and trim (maybe not Burbs though?), then the 80's got color-keyed... except the crew cabs. '88 must have been the start of color-keyed in crews, but as an option I'm guessing. I know I've seen '88 and newer that still had the beige headliner and trim.

my 88 crew didn't come with any trim. one day while shopping around in the salvage yard came across a 91 crew and it had most of its trim left. so me and the wife snatched it all out of there including the headliner. I always wondered why the used white trim in a red truck with red seats

Yes - we are always dabbling, changing things from year to year.

By they time you look at the small incremental changes, then a big change in 88, plus looking at trucks in the field that owners might have changed - it's really hard to infer what was going on 25 years or 40 years after the fact.

In my 88 all the post and headliner were all that whitish color but I solved that. recovered the headliner in black suede and dyed the trim with black SEM dye.
