Another weight question.
I've seen a few of these threads and wondered "why"? In SC, I'm supposed to know this stuff.
Any how, truck is in sig. I'm fairly sure GVW is 10,000, but I'm not sure on actual. The lady at the DMV guessed on my old K-20's weight and I'm pretty sure it was very low (she guessed 4300, I believe when I scaled it in ME it was closer to 5300, she thought that was too high). Going to the scale isn't going to happen until this is registered, but I need a closer weight to register it. Current title lists it @4000. Close? It is not a CC, just a reg cab dually.

Re: Another weight question.
Are you talking GVW or GVWR. GVW would be around 6,000 and GVWR would be 9800 i think maybe 10200

Re: Another weight question.
Sorry, I believe rated weight is 10,000, least by the VIN and past experience. I looking for a close estimate on curb weight. I may just go by title and let it fly. Hit a scale when I think of it.
john_p, in ME, they could and did check weight. Mainly it was limited to big trucks or pick-ups that were dragging the bumpers and obviously overloaded, but it did happen. Bigger trucks it was more of an issue, but...

Re: Another weight question.
According to a couple options manuals I have, the curb weight of a mid eighties C-30 regular cab truck is 4,872 pounds. They show this having the eight cylinder engine, but don't specify which. I'd bet it's the 350, so you could add a bit more for your 454. They also don't say if this is a srw or drw truck.

Re: Another weight question.
The gvwr should be on the door.
But you can find your exact curb weight here: http://www.gmheritagecenter.com/gm-h...tion-kits.html |

Re: Another weight question.
Thank's everybody,
C-10 simplex, truck has been repainted and the door sticker is gone. I had forgotten about your link, I did get a packet a few years ago for my '73, everything you thought you knew about your truck. rustyMUD, good to know. I was guesstimating closer to the 5000lb. mark.
