Drive shaft and limits
I am currently swapping out a 250 Inline to a 350 V8, my question is about my two piece drive shaft. How much horsepower and torque can a stock straight six drive shaft handle? Is there a difference between a drive shaft that was from a inline vrs the trucks that had original V8s?
I have searched and most threads are about going from a two to one piece drive shaft. It looks like my new engine will be around 400HP at the crank. My truck is a LWB. Thanks.

Re: Drive shaft and limits
Most people will tell you that a one piece drive shaft is not a good thing with a lwb truck.
It depends which drive shaft the 6 cylinder truck had. My '67 was a 3/4 ton lwb stepper with 6 cylinder and granny 4 speed, it had the large diameter two piece drive shaft with the heavy duty center bearing so when I put a 454 in it I had no problems. I am sure others will chime in with more info and opinions.

Re: Drive shaft and limits
What is the difference in diameter of the two different driveshafts? I will measure mine and see where I stand.
Thanks
