Need pics of 1 ton to 1/2 ton conversion
I recently bought a 1 ton crew cab and want to convert it to 1/2 ton and make it a short bed. I have read the only two ways to do this is graft the rear section of a 1/2 ton frame onto it or fabricate shock mounts and just shorten the frame. I am leaning toward shortening the 1 ton frame and fabricating shock mounts but would like to know how most people have done theirs. Does anyone have pics of how they did it?

Re: Need pics of 1 ton to 1/2 ton conversion
Most people tend to make a Z-cut in the frame, shorten it where they're supposed to, and bolt the short bed up. Keep in mind, some needs taken out before the wheel-well and some after. I'm not sure how much. With respect to the rear axle, you're also going to have to remove the spring perches on the half ton axle and move them inward to fit under the 1 ton frame. Either that, or you can move your spring hangers on your frame to fit the axle. I'd rather weld new perches on the axle though.
