my new 68 C20
i picked this truck up a couple months ago on CL for $600 and parked it at my sister's place. just brought it home wednesday. it made the 40 minute ride on the highway no problem, and i've taken it around town a couple times since i brought it home.
it has a 292 with a 4 speed, manual everything. brand new exhaust. runs/drives/stops. 2 brand new 225/75/16 load range E front tires and the matching brand new pair for the rear came with. someone already put an 88-94 front bench in. i already have new rear lenses on the way and bought power brake brackets and will probably toss in a hydroboost because i have a brand new unit. i plan to go over everything before deciding what to do on the chassis but i expect to sit on craigslist like a hawk and find a 73-87 C20 donor for the front end and i have a 3.73 14 bolt rear with discs sitting around doing nothing to drop some highway RPM. definitely going to snag an HEI. final goal is to fix the rust and have a cool old hauler for my carpentry business. i figure it's hard to go wrong with a 292/sm465 3/4 ton for when my sonoma is too small and my flatbed dually is too big. my little guy likes it too. |

600 bucks for that truck is a good deal. That should make a nice worker bee truck.

Re: my new 68 C20
looks better than it is. there is some great stuff foam making the gap between the homemade rockers and rusty floorpans, but i figured you really can't go wrong buying a running driving truck for 600 bux, let alone a 68.
