Re: another 700r4 question

the 700r4 is the same length as the long tail(truck and fullsize car) th350 and about 3" longer than the short tail one. so provided you have the former, you're good on d/s length. the mount on the 700r4 is also about 3" farther back from that of the th350 so the crossmember needs moved or modified. i know on the 73-87 you can just move the crossmember back a few inches, not sure about the 67-72 because i have not crawled under my 68 yet to look.

Re: another 700r4 question

I just did mine on the weekend. Crossmember has to be moved 3" back.Watch for the fuel lines on the right side. You will have to move them out of the way.I was going to drill out the frame because it will not line up. But you cant drill the top if your cab is still on.So i built a tranny bracket out of 2 1/2 inch angle and mover the crossmember back 3" into holes the were there. Have fun putting the bolts back in your crossmember. Now i need a carb bracket and a throttle bracket. Any ideas on making one??
