New barn find of the day BIG window 55...
Got a heads up on a big window 55 this morning I just couldn't pass it up. Im still in the middle of my 57 Fleetside build, so this one will just have to sit until another day. Figured I'd share with everyone! I'll have better pictures once I get it out of his barn and to the house... I really needed this truck like a hole in the head

Nice, hope the lower body is as good as the upper in the photos. Any engine, tranny with it of just the roller?

No its just a roller... The body seems to be pretty strait and very minimal rust on the outside body, however the inside is another story, I've never seen so much rust on the inside floor of a truck! The doors are solid, shut great and hinges have no slack, which I like. I'll take more pictures soon

Nice truck. You know that's a '56 hood/emblem though, right?

Re: New barn find of the day BIG window 55...
Got the truck home this weekend and the 55 is A little rougher then I originally noticed so I am tossing around what to do with it... I could:
A) Sell it for what I gave for it $1,000 with title. B) Swap back half's so I would have a big window on my 57 then take a loss on the 55 small window. C) Suck it up and let it sit so I have to look at it everyday. D) Hillbilly trailer out of the bed, sell the 55 front clip, cut the big window, scrap what is left... Here are a few pictures I took with my 57... |

Even with the bad floor a big window shortie with a title has to be worth what you paid for it. I wouldn't doubt that you have a few pm'd offers before the day is over.
Back in the mid 70's I wanted one of those bad enough to sell the 48 and drive 150 miles to try to buy one that was sitting in the lot of a business in Waxachie, Tx when I was living in McGregor, Tx. I didn't end up with it and bought a 57 Panel with a seriously built 327 that I ended up trading back for the 48. |

Id love to have a panel...! No offers yet, im seriously thinking about cutting the back window out as much as it is going to kill me to ruin the truck. I might list it in the classifieds in a few days to give someone a chance to swipe it up |

Real shame to cut it up, the conversion parts will require as much work to install with out the cutting, so maybe sell it for what you paid plus the price of the parts for yours.
