Testing Power Windows / Locks
Hi all , have a set of doors with power windows and locks.
Is there a way to test them? They are OFF the truck right now. I currently have manuel windows / locks and bought these doors to eventually swap into mine. Thanks |

Re: Testing Power Windows / Locks
would be very easy to do with a power probe. find some one that has one and you can test all functions of windows and locks

Re: Testing Power Windows / Locks
Orange wire is hot all the time (so that's for your power locks)
Pink wire is hot when the iginition switch is on (so that is for your power windows) Get a battery charger, put a fuse in the positive side, and hook it up to these wires and try the switches to see if they work. Don't forget to ground the circuit too.

Re: Testing Power Windows / Locks
All you need is the Orange and pink wire and ground. Put the Orange and pink together on the positive side of a battery or charger and the ground on the negative side, the window should go up or down. If you swap the positive and negative it will move the opposite way. You can do the same for the lock. I think the lock wires are brown and blue

Re: Testing Power Windows / Locks
Having a power probe is worth it's weight in gold sometimes. Super easy to work power windows with a door off the truck.
