You didn't miss out. It's the 2nd LSX motor in this truck. I will admit, the second time around was almost as much work as the first time.

It's the same radiator I had (griffin) and I'm not sure what the fans came off of. I had them in my basement and lucky for me they fit perfect.

I think they are good engines and a good choice for what you are describing. All of the the 4.8 and 5,3 setups are everywhere for sale. I picked up the 5.3/4l60 combo for $1,200 and it came with harness, all accesorries and etc.
