Oil cooler lines leaking
They go from the back of the block to the radaitor on my 6.2. They're leaking where the rubber crimps onto the metal. Just wondering if there is a cheap fix for this?

your local hydrolic shop could make you new hoses. i know carquest around here will make hydrolic hoses. just take them the hose and they can make a good copy of it

Dorman makes a good replacement for the 6.5 I bet they make em for the 6.2

Chevy is still having issues with this on their Gas burners and Diesel trucks , Just replaced a set on a 2005 G Van , same problem leaking at the crimp area.

Cut off the crimp, replace the hose, and use hose clamps instead of the factory crimp.

I've used clamps to repair a hole in the aluminum line, held fine.
I've also used regular clamps on air lines with 100+ psi. You could double clamp it with the clamps on opposite of each other. Heavy duty clamps are also available http://www.idealclamps.com/catalog/index.php?ID=3 The replacement cooler lines will leak again, it's just a matter of when. Seems to be an inherent design flaw or designed to fail for future parts sales... Posted via Mobile Device

I would use an 'A/C' clamp. Its the one that has a finger on it. I used one in a pinch and it worked good. I would get one sooner than later. When it comes off, its bye bye engine.
I would second the dorman hoeses, they seem to work good. |

The auto parts store I go to was able to order them....they're a locally owned shop that's comparable to NAPA.
I used to work in reaction injection molding and dealt with a lot of hydraulic hoses....they all fail at the crimp over time.
