Question for clipped front guys
I have a 1/2 ton 47 with a 70 Nova subframe under the front and have recently went from a 454 to a 5.3. My front springs were a little too heavy for my liking with the big block but now with the 5.3 it's way too stiff. I was thinking of trying
the QA1 coilovers but I've heard of some people having problems with the lower cross shafts breaking and other people say they are just junk in general. Anybody running these? I have no idea what the front of a Camaro or Nova weighs but I've scaled my truck and it was 2200 over the front and 1200 on the rear with the big block and 1900 front, 1100 rear with the 5.3.

Re: Question for clipped front guys
I'd get my hands on a Moog chassis parts catalog and find a set of springs with the right spring rate, diameter and see if I could find a set of springs that had a rate that was compatible with the weight of the engine. You might want to check out the Moog 5596 which is for 79 Chevelle V6 non ac cars. Summit shows that as fitting the Nova.
