SMC or Fiberglass??
Can anyone confirm whether a 72 Blazer single wall top is SMC or Fiberglass?

smc is smooth on both sides where as fiberglass is rough finish on one side

My old double wall had a texture on the outside as did my newer single wall. I changed over because my truck is low and I didn't like the dips/water puddles on the double wall top.
The single wall I found required fiberglass repair under one of the windows and a 12" vent hole on top. Typical mat and weave repair has held good for 16 years. The single wall looked like a very early generation of fiberglass technology. The spots I ground/cleaned for repair looked almost like more of a plastic. I don't remember seeing any glass strands inside. That was before I took glass classes for work. |

I have found that they are definately SMC, although the hatches are all fiberglass
