Re: Classic Update Series Wiring Kit AAW

I bought mine about 3 years ago on my 60 C-10 and I like the product. Comes pretty much complete with all switches: ignition, high beam, and headlight minus the wiper switch. The kit comes with extra wiring for accessories. The only bad is on the headlight wiring you will need a special double and single barrel crimping tool used for the early GM connectors. I needed the double barrel crimper and it is expensive so I used my single crimper and solder all the connectors for added protection. AAW rents the crimpers but too much of a hassel...Good Luck..

Re: Classic Update Series Wiring Kit AAW

I wonder if it may be possible to swap out the headlights (GMC not chevrolet) for newer style headlights thus newer style connectors...

rereading the description they may have updated this piece since you bought yours:

8. Front lighting includes extra long leads for special routing when custom under hood appearance is desired. All headlight, park light, and directional light connectors and terminals are provided, as well as a switched trigger wire for electric fan relay (usually recommended with AC).

I've used AAW products, in my business for nearly 10 years, rewiring street rods and customs. Always very satisfied with the product and customer service. Just my 2 cents worth.

Re: Classic Update Series Wiring Kit AAW

I dont believe the kit changed much but get on their website and check out the video they post for crimping the connectors. You can see the double barrel connectors I was talking about. I believe you will need to crimp it two times if Im not mistaken... The good thing about AAW is they also include an extra connectors package for practice and this kit is complete with extra goodies. The kit comes in packages and it goes through stages. I was very happy with AAW and think you will be too...And its made in the USA.......

I called them today and you are right, seems pricey for the tools... even to rent. Couldnt really even find anything comparable and cheaper tool wise.
