Huh this is kind of a bummer to find out. I am not completely in love with cutting anything off my truck that has survived 24 yrs with out a spec of rust.

Re: The Drop Thread

I lowered mine by cuting one round off of the front springs.
For the back I took the leaf apart.
Started with main leaf added longest leaf below, put overload leaf on top and bolted back together.
The end result was 2.5 front. 3 rear.
Cost. $0.00
Rides good, only draw back is redused weight carrying due to the nature of leaf springs.

Re: The Drop Thread

After doing a flip in the rear, wouldn't removing leafs be effectively raising the rear back up?

Re: The Drop Thread

I am running a McGaughy's 4.5/6 kit on my truck and was wondering if any of you guys ran into a problem with running the factory brake lines, and them hitting the spindle and not being able to run them how they were on the factory spindle. Did any of you have to do any grinding or use steel braided lines or.......

It's common practice to 'tweak' the brake line slightly so it doesn't rub. A little prying where the hard line attaches @ the caliper usually does the trick.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.
