AD Vent Window question
I am in the process of rebuilding my 53's vent windows and they need some TLC and repairs but I can't find a good picture anywhere of one portion of the window.
The area in question is in this area: http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b8...0/DSCF5814.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b8...0/DSCF5813.jpg i.e. the little metal bracket riveted in at the top of the division bar fixing it to the top curved part. On my other one it is broken so I will need to make something but I want to make sure I get it close enough to the original type of shape. It looks like it was shaped like: http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b8...3100/shape.jpg but seeing as the whole division bar is somewhat loose I am not sure if that's really the way it was meant to be or a previous owner twisted it when taking it out of the door at some point. Is the division bar supposed to be flush against the other portion or is there supposed to be a gap at the top of about 3/16"? Eliminating the gap seems to make the vent window fit a little better but then it looks like there's a gap when I roll my window up. Anyone have one in decent condition they can take a picture of that portion for me? |
