Crossmember confusion

I have 78 k5 blazer stock suspension and a 3 in body lift, my question after trying for countless hours to find an answer is should my transmission crossmember be tight to the frame or spaced down just over an inch? The transfer case crossmember that is just behind it is tight to the frame, but the front crossmember is currently spaced.

He is a picture of what I currently have, I would like to know if I should take out the spacers, and mount it flush to the frame like the rear one or leave it where it is?

The more I look at this the skid plate on the front crossmember looks bent down on the front edge, you can kind of see it in the picture, unfortunately for me driving around I only saw a two wheel drive blazer so I couldn't even compare it to see how mine should be, so if anyone has a 4x and wouldn't mind taking a look and letting me know, I would really appreciate it. Thank you

Thank you for a reply, when I go to the pics of 4x4 blazers it looks like they are both spaced or neither are, but can't tell 100% if it is spaced and should not be, could that lead to issues? I know that drive shaft angle would be affect moving it up and down, could it lead to engine oil problems with the back down that far and the front then being pulled upward?

from factory those spacers are installed on the top and the cross members sit flush with the frame rails as lifts were so common i can only assume then you just put them on the bottom, in my case it came on the bottom and put them back to factory to tilt my whole driveline up again then again that is on the newer trucks and i've never seen two crossmembers like that before so its somewhat out of my answerable range

You are correct about the spacers being on top of the frame, mine were.

Some guys move those spacers below the frame in an attempt to change the rear driveshaft angle. It's a weak way to go about it and also makes the front driveshaft angle worse.

I moved the spacers and everything looks better drive shaft angles, the distributor is spaced away from the fire wall and engine looks like it should thank you for the info guys
