staight six head hunt

would love to hear a 292 engine run again but have been told that it is easier to find a straight six small block head off an old bread truck than to rebuild the one I have. Any ideas on where to find this jewel? Engine is currently in a 76 c-10 but am not sure if it is the original engine. I appreciate any advice you can give that will lead to hearing this thing roar again!

as far as I can tell, every other valve seems seated in farther than the other and one valve is cracked. Haven't been able to check the head for warpage yet as I was told it may be cheaper to find a replacement as to have this one rebuilt. any avice tibbar?

Oh it is a sad sad day. The tech school that I am going to evaluated not only my head but the block and found cracks in both. I guess playing of taps is in order. Thanks for the advice and effort each of you took in giving me advice. I guess this one stopped before it started. Thanks again.
