Will the truck settle any after coil springs are cut

After cutting one coil out of the coil springs will the front settle any

Good question. If they are the O.G. springs and they are set in the pockets correctly I think they are where they are gonna be and won't settle anymore.

i have heard of it, i didnt notice mine drop anymore. not saying it doesnt happen but with mine it wasnt enough to notice

If the springs are seated properly they won't settle much if any. You do need to drive it so the suspension unloads before you check your measurements.

this is mine within an hour after cutting springs and less then 2 miles on it


and another that is over 4 months later

Yes they will settle...but it usually happens after the first spin around the block. And it's not a drastic change.... Anytime I do anything with my coils I take it for a spin and try to hit a few mild potholes, just to get ALL the settling out of the way so that I won't have any surprises later on

I am not trying to disagree with you, but I refer to that as "seating" the suspension. After the suspension has been suspended the bushing and springs need to seat themselves back in the correct location.

I feel that "settling" is a term used for new springs breaking in and finding their correct height.

Did you get 3" up front just cutting one coil or did you have to do spindles?

1 1/2 coils and it gave me close to 4"
