Questions about a CL find...
http://abilene.craigslist.org/pts/2990959381.html
Found this LWB frame with PS and PB. Also has disc convo up front (5 lug) and a spare 5 lug rear axle. It appears as if the master and booster and prop valve are in the bed, however I don't see a PS pump. I'm interested in this for my 67 SWB for several reasons (obviously not for the frame) - My 67 has drums all around, manual steering and no power brakes. This deal would speed me along as far as parts go, and I was wanting 5 lugs anyways. Also I need a tailgate and a bumper, which both appear salvagable. There is also a in-cab tank sitting in the bed, which I also need to get this cheapo plastic fuel cell out of my bed. My questions are as follows - from what y'all can see, would this be a good deal for the price listed? It says hes taking it to the local scrap yard, so I'm certain he'll let it go for less. Also, what concerns should I have about compatibility of the parts to my truck? And of course, should I be concerned about getting a title/bill of sale with the frame? I'm not clear on if the cab or frame is what the title attaches to, just don't want to get tangled up with the law. Thanks in advance! BTW, this board is awesome, in the past few months I have quadrupled my knowledge of these trucks. |

Re: Questions about a CL find...
Did you see he mentioned a tilt steering column is included? The tailgate looks clean. I thi k that you could sale off the parts you are not going to use and end up ahead on the deal even at $400

Re: Questions about a CL find...
The bed is worth that much alone. The tailgate looks pushed in to me. I agree, you could sell what you don't want and get some money back.

Looks like a deal to me. You should be able to offer a little less and they might take it.

Re: Questions about a CL find...
Went and talked to the fella this past weekend, but wasn't able to make a deal. He wouldn't come down off of $400 and last I saw, he reposted the ad at $500. I didn't take the deal because I figured that for a few hundred more, I could redo the front end with all new parts.
Unfortunate, but that is the reality of weirdos on CL. |
