I wonder what it looked like before it was repainted.
I know to each their own, but they only have original paint once. Unless there were major problems with the paint in my eyes they are worth more with original paint and a couple war wounds.

Real nice truck. Notice that the Side Light Lenses are switched around. They would need to be put back for regular road use. Strange it has carpet? You would think it would have been Rubber, especially in a fire truck.

Re: check this eBay ad out! (not mine)
Very Cool -
Sidebar: when I was growing up, the Fire Chief used to live down the street from us (it had it's advantages, like our street was always nicely plowed in the winter!). We bought a '69 GMC shortbox stepside (2wd) new in late 1968, in the red/hugger orange color. When the Chief saw that truck he liked it so much that he ordered a version of one for the field/brush fire truck. Ended up with red longbed 4wd stepper that was upfitted with all the usual fire truck stuff. They had that truck the whole time I lived there and even after I had moved on and started my own family. I'll have to check back in and see if they still have that truck. K
