73+ drop spindles on 71-72
I read a thread asking a similar question a while back and now i cant find it. I currently have the 71-72 crossmember/arms/tierods/ball joints etc..
theres some 73+ 3" drop spindles on craigslist...is it true that i can use the 73 drop spindles on the 71-72 components if i just switch the outer tie rod to the 73' type and change to 73' lower and upper ball joints. i also heard that runnin 3" drop spindles with 15" wheels might require shaving of the lca for full steering ablility. can anyone confirm this for me? thanks |

Re: 73+ drop spindles on 71-72
Lower ball joint is the same as the 71-72.
Change the upper ball joint and the outer tie rod. Yes,... minor trimming of the lower control arms is necessary with 15" wheels with more than 3.5" of backspacing.
