Grandpa's Ice Cream Truck

I got a box of old pictures today and found these. My grandpa sold ice cream to stores, schools, movie theaters etc. a long time ago. The back of the pic says 1951 GMC and was taken in 1964. Just thought I would share.

Very cool! You rarely see any medium duty old trucks in any kind of repairable shape to restore these days.

I love the Advance Design trucks. Cool pictures. I bet the guys over in the 47-59 message board would appreciate this truck. That's where this type of truck goes.

There are quite a few around here. From the early 1900s to the early 70s there were mostly orchards here and farms in the valleys. With the farly mild winters many survived.
I used to work as a moble {Or is that manic} Mechanic for a tree trimming/logging company. before cell phones used to spend a lot of time in the valley looking for the crews. I saw some neat things as farmers don't seem to sell anything.

Re: Grandpa's Ice Cream Truck

Love these old pics. Hope you won't mind if I add a couple of my late step-father in law at his truck rental business in Atlanta, Ga. The boy in the pic was his son.
