Re: New to the forum with a new Burb
The guy who I bought this from was obviously a Tennesse Titans fan. I will need to change this paint color for sure. The pictures make the paint look much better than it actually is. There are a few rusty spots on the floors but overall its in really good shape.
I really like the patina look on the pick ups, but havent seen any on these suburbans. Have you seen a Burb with the patina paint job. I know I know Painted on Faux Patina, but its not rusty and I dont plan on welcoming rust either. I also dont plan on an expensive paint job at the momemt, maybe later but not for some time. Cheers |

and the boards from NC.....
That's a good looking burb...saw that on CL awhile back....hard not to remember the Titan paint job!!!.....There are folks that can help with the patina paint job, but it's still gonna cost a few bucks.... Enjoy it for a while and make the small changes you want...do lots of reading on this site and get your ideas nailed down, then take them on one by one Got any interior pictures??...how's she drive??...

Re: New to the forum with a new Burb
I have been glued to this forum since last Wednesday when I picked her up. I will get some more pics of her this weekend and post them up. She runs good, but could use an overhaul as the engine is a little weak. For know she runs good. I do have a little transmission leak that I'll take a closer look at this weekend as well. Appears to be just the lower pan thats leaking....HOPEFULLY. There is also a very slow leak coming from the power sterring which appears to be coming from an old weeping hose. Should be some easy fixes and she'll be up and running this weekend.

to the board. That will make a great "Beach Burb" for sure. I'm hoping to have mine on the road in the next couple of weeks too. LockDoc

Great burb! I called the PO, but he must have just sold it to you. It seems to be in great shape. Good Luck!

Re: New to the forum with a new Burb
Had a good day working on the Burb today. Replaced the tranny filter and pan gasket, power steering pump and both lines. Reinstalled my newly rebuilt dash and headlight switch and also updated my headlights. It was nice to wrench on her for the day.
The tires are BFG AT 31x10.5x15. I will try to remember to take some pics of her interior tomorrow. |
