carb question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

i was messing with my q-jet and i noticed the little plate in the first picture was loose from its location on te second picture and it was held with what looks like epoxy. does anyone know if that part is normally held with epoxy or something else. i bought the carb from summit racing. anyt help would be appreciated.

the item that the arrow is pointing at is what i am used to seeing. how is mine being differant going to affect how my carb works?
