steering column replace?

I'd like to pick up a steering column from a boneyard to save some $$. I was wondering if anyone knew what is compatible with the 1972 blazer/jimmy. If I could pick up something newer that would just bolt in?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: steering column replace?

The only columns that are bolt in are the ones for these trucks. Van and motorhome columns can be made to work fairly easily(the ones without the key in the column) anything else could be done depending on your level of talent, or depth of your wallet.

Re: steering column replace?

I have a 72 K5 and I found a number of columns out of C10 trucks. Almost every yard I have been to has a old C10 on the lot. These bolt right up to it.

Does it have to be year-specific or will any year c10 match?

67-72 are a match for sure, but not sure on 66 and below models. Maybe someone else has looked or can look for you.
